For Painful Shoulders and Rotator Cuff Issues

Your rotator cuff (not cup, btw) is comprised of 4 small–but important–muscles that start at your shoulder blade and connect to different areas at the top of your arm. They’re the muscles that orchestrate the relationship between the bones of the shoulder to allow you to move through your full range without pain.

Pain and tightness can plague this area from overuse, poor posture, or simply from living life without giving this area some occasional love.

A Towel Stretch is one great way of giving a couple of these important rotator cuff muscles a safe stretch. If you are someone or know someone who’s having trouble getting your hands behind your back, this stretch is especially important.

Follow Dr. Alex as he takes you through the stretch with all the important techniques.

Hi, I’m Alex.
Physical Therapist
I’m a professional dancer turned physical therapist who understands how injury can disrupt how we work and play. I take a movement-focused approach and specialize in working with those who are motivated to achieve their best selves and strive to fully participate in life. I have had the opportunity to work with patients across the spectrum of care; from patients learning to walk after a stroke, patients returning to work after injury, to professional ballet dancers honing their techniques and restoring muscle imbalances. If you are someone who is driven to keep moving and not afraid to put in a little work, motivPT is right for you. I can’t wait to meet you.
